The NDIS

The NDIS offers all Australians under 65 that have a permanent and significant disability with the essential supports needed to enjoy a normal life. Those who are qualified to receive NDIS assistance are known as participants and each participant has an individual NDIS plan that will identify their goals and what they would like to achieve.

The plan also identifies the supports that are to be funded by the NDIS along with supports the individual requires. This scheme has provided individuals living with disability the power to decide where and how they can access their supports.

Funding is allocated directly to the individual to acquire the support they need, instead of funding being directly given to the service providers. People who have disabilities are now able to select their providers and can change them at any time. For more information on the NDIS, visit: https://www.ndis.gov.au/
